The 15-year-old fan, whose name is Bui Deiu KL, was from Hanoi, Vietnam and had been suffering from bone cancer. As a huge fan of BTS’ Jungkook, she had even succeeded in securing a ticket to BTS’ concert in Singapore with her mother.

Bui Deiu KL had done her exercise and marked off each day in anticipation for the concert but unfortunately passed away on December 20 before being able to attend the event.

Her mother, who helped Bui Deiju KL buy the tickets, went to the concert in place of her daughter and shared a heartfelt message to her late daughter through social media on January 19.

The mother recalled how BTS became a huge motivation for her daughter in fighting her illness for the past 3 years and talked about how much her daughter loved Jungkook in particular.

I know very well that the 7 lovely members inspired you to overcome your illness for the past 3 years. Especially Jungkook, I used to talk about him with you every day. Remember, I used to call him son-in-law. Every time I did, you were extremely happy and couldn’t hold in your excitement.

She continued:

I love you so much and miss you so much. I’m going to send this letter to the place you are at and to the world where Jungkook is.

Korean netizens who came across the story and the letter have been giving their condolences and empathized with the mother.

  • “I’m getting teary-eyed reading this. As a mother who is raising a daughter, I can relate to her and it’s truly unfortunate and sad. Although she wasn’t able to see Jungkook before she left, at least he was able to give her strength until the end. I hope she rests in peace.”
  • “My heart hurts so much. I hope she is happy in heaven where there is no pain and no sadness. It would’ve been nice if she could’ve seen Jungkook before going. Rest in peace.”
  • “I hope this gets to BTS’ Jungkook. Rest in peace. I hope she is happy in heaven.”

“My loving daughter. I came to Singapore to see BTS and I believe you relieved your longing by meeting them too. I know very well how much you’ve waited for this day.

My daughter who I love so dearly, you counted each day on the calendar for this day and exercised hard to meet the person you love until the very end.

I know very well that the 7 lovely members inspired you to overcome your illness for the past 3 years. Especially Jungkook, I used to talk about him with you every day. Remember, I used to call him son-in-law. Every time I did, you were extremely happy and couldn’t hold in your excitement.

You’re in heaven now. Are you happy? Up there, go out and buy whatever you want. Buy everything that I couldn’t buy for you because of your critical condition. You can buy whatever you like.

Up there, don’t worry about saving money…I know you tried hard to save money for me.

But my dear daughter…please do everything that you want to do. I love you so much and miss you so much. I’m going to send this letter to the place you are at and to the world where Jungkook is.”
