6 Hair Color Trends We’ll Be Seeing All Over K-Pop In 2019

Is there a better-kept secret than what color idols are gonna dye their hair next? I truly don’t think so. I can bet it’s not just me non-stop theorizing about it as soon as I see photos of idols wearing hats that cover their entire head. “Is it gonna be red? Blue? I can see some pink on their sideburns. Is it sprayed-on?” and so on. But possibilities are endless, and we could spend days trying to find out what colors are gonna be the next ones we’ll see on an idol’s hair. Thankfully there are a few trends going around at the moment that can serve as a lead so we know what to expect and be prepared, so take note and use this as your guide next time you’re trying to find out if your faves went blonde, pink, or blue.

Neon Everything

You’ve probably seen neon all over the place already. Clothes, accessories, makeup, and of course hair. This trend is truly a strong one this year, so get ready to see lots of it taking over idols’ heads, from fuchsia to slime green, electric blue, and phosphorescent orange, there’s no limit. Would you try this trend yourself?

Lilac Shades

Lilac is the new pink. While for the past few years we’ve seen idols fall into the arms of pink hair, 2019 is the year of purple, and K-pop knows it. We’ll see different intensities but always with that washed-out quality that turns lilac into such a soothing and gentle color.

Bold Turquoise

We’ve seen this color on some idols before, but get ready to see it all over the place this year. Turquoise is turning into a mainstream shade, and we’ll see lots of it all year long. The fun thing about this color is how you can decide if you want it to be more on the blue or the green side, so we’ll probably see a variety of it but always under the same title.

Silver Platinum

We’re not talking that super washed-out blonde, but more of a silver shade here. While gray was the must in 2017, 2019 took it a step further by embracing the power of white, coming up with this Draco Malfoy-esque hue. This strong yet minimal shade is set to become a trend this year, and we can’t wait to see some idols jump into it.

All Shades of Red

Remember how in 2015 every idol was dying their hair pure red? The wave calmed down a little afterwards, but now it’s making a comeback. The amazing thing about this color is how nicely it plays with the lights, reason why so many idols love it. Expect lots of shades of red this year, from fire cherry to strawberry red, burgundy, and scarlet, and maybe some brown-ish ones.

Dirty Blonde

Some call it bronde, some simply dark blonde. This in-between shade is the perfect mix between honey blonde, light brown, and gold all in one, and idols are loving it. Some have been wearing it for years, but it’s a completely new concept for others, so be prepared to see it all around as idols find their own perfect shade for it.
