BTS, EXO, TWICE, BLACKPINK, And SEVENTEEN Officially Certified Platinum By Gaon


Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official platinum certifications!

Last year, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a brand-new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.

On March 7, Gaon Chart announced that EXO’s latest album “Love Shot” had received an official double platinum certification after selling over 500,000 copies since its release last December.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s 2018 mini album “Square Up” and SEVENTEEN’s latest mini album “You Made My Dawn” both received official platinum certifications after selling over 250,000 copies each.

In the streaming category, BTS’s “Fake Love,” TWICE’s “Dance the Night Away,” and Ben’s “Love, ing” all received platinum certifications after surpassing 100 million streams each.

Finally, Roy Kim’s “Only Then” and Paul Kim’s “Every Day, Every Moment” both received platinum certifications in the download category after reaching 2.5 million downloads each.
